How did you first discover Chris Isaak? 
Fifteen years ago heard one of his songs and the rest is history. His music helped me through many sad and lonely nights. I used to dream about him all the time. Had a close encounter with him in Puyallup, WA. He casually commented that I had some wicked eyes as he passed by. Later, during his show, he came down and sang to me, I thanked God for that ailse seat! He's the total package, wit, humor, charm, looks, talent, voice... Don't make me dream about you.

Awww, our very first singing/songwriting attempt with, "Nobody Knows".
90After the first verse, I couldn't remember what I had just wrote & realized I didn't have my glasses.... Mama Magoo stirkes again! :) You can actually hear me improvise when I realize I can't see "I have no vision"........... I'm such a DORK !
So enjoy a good laugh, and see how NOT to write a song.

Cool tour venues

It's nice to see some cool, and normally neglected little venues on the tour. Arcata is awesome, lived there for a couple of years and is an experience unto itself.... take a frisbee & play some golf at HSU if you get the chance or a drive up to Patricks Point if you can.
Murphy's, well now only a Stockton native could know about that...

The Love Affair Continues

Ahhh, what a wonderful day it was. I had a commitment early yesterday morning near Union Square in San Francisco. The address I had was on Stockton St., no less, and the doorman where I had to go was the best. He could see that I was obviously not yet fully awake at that incredibly early hour, so he took me under his wing, gave me a cup of coffee and directed me with great precision. I was finished before ten am and was fully awake as the grin crept over my face when it dawned on me that I had the rest of the day free to romp around the city.

One of my favorite movies is the Tom Hanks film, "That Thing You Do". I must have seen it at least three or four times before it hit me who it was playing Uncle Bob. I now wonder if Chris had some influence and collaboration on the music in the film. I always thought I heard Chris' guitar in the title song, even before I discovered, a: I need glasses & b: his small but critical role in that movie.

I Found My Heart in San Francisco

It's 5pm and TGIF. Outside I can hear the gentle caress of raindrops making contact with the earth. A most beautiful and soothing lullaby. One of nature's many free concerts and a contender in my three favorite ones.

Another would be the swell and release of the ocean. It's comforting hypnosis, in the most primal form. Calming and forceful, to it's song I have always been drawn.

Although I am a San Joaquin Valley native, it never felt right. As young child barely old enough for school, I knew the first time I arrived, this is where I am SUPPOSED to be....
